The Bible – By Evangelist Drew Hogan

“For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.” (I Thessalonians 2:13)

PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!!!!! Thank You, Lord, for this absolutely has and is changing my life, all to God’s glory! One needs only to be touched by the Word of God to understand it is truly sent from Heaven.
There is so much that the world today tries to offer to take place of God’s Word, but to no avail. These humanistic usurpers always, in the end, lack ability and power to get the job done. When judged by the world’s standards, I am a simple man. I thank God and His Word for that. I could have gone down a different road. “But God”
God’s Word is all it claims to be. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” (II Timothy 3:16) It is the right doctrine. Its reproof is perfect and, with power to bring one to a Godly sorrow, it knows the proper way of correction and has no equal in instruction of what is right. It is the Word of God.
“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scriptures is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” (II Peter 1:20-21)
God Himself thinks highly of His Word. He knows of its perfection. “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.” (Psalm 12:6)  He Himself puts it in a position of being high and lifted up. “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” (Psalm 138:2)
Some today believe there is more: I say everything has been delivered!! “Contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” (Jude 3) Praise God for the Bible’s completeness; in fact, we are warned not to add to it in Revelation 22:18-19.
Some today say the love of God transcends the  Word of God. The Bible says obeying God’s Word is true love. “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.” (I John 5:3) “And this is love, that we walk after his commandments.” (II John 6)
The Bible Old and New Testaments are the very love letter sent from God. The Old was written for our learning and example, that we might see Christ in type and figure and realize how God would have us to walk in holiness; and, in fact, what that is. Also, that we might see ourselves and, as a schoolmaster reveals, it also reveals our sins of both omission and commission to lead us to Christ. (I Corinthians 10:1-12 and Galatians 3:22-24)
The New opens up the storehouse of riches that God has for those who will accept the Saviour brought down to man. By it we are born, we grow, are sanctified, and protected. It is how to know God and all that He has for us.
They both reveal to us how to live right before God and man. “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” (I Peter 2:9)
Lastly, it is a fountain of grace for our salvation (Ephesians 2: 8-10) and for our Christian walk. “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.” (Titus 2:11-15)

The Word of God is all it claims to be, more than we even comprehend.
The question is: do we agree with God ?
